Ronnie Corbett was a Scottish comedian and actor best known for his long partnership with Ronnie Barker on the BBC sketch show The Two Ronnies (1971–1987), where his meandering, shaggy-dog monologues delivered from a large armchair became one of British comedy's most familiar sights. He also demonstrated real range as a solo performer, starring as the mother-dominated Timothy Lumsden in the sitcom Sorry! (1981–1988) and, earlier, in No — That's Me Over Here! (1967–1970). Across a career running from 1952 to 2014, he turned his famously short stature into a source of both visual comedy and gentle self-deprecation.
