Robbie Coltrane established himself as a versatile performer in British comedy and drama long before achieving worldwide recognition as the gentle giant Rubeus Hagrid across the entire Harry Potter film series (2001–2011). He earned three consecutive BAFTA Television Awards for his role as forensic psychologist Dr Eddie “Fitz” Fitzgerald in the crime series Cracker, one of only two actors ever to win that award three times running. His film career also included a memorable turn as the Russian gangster Valentin Zukovsky across several James Bond films, part of a body of work spanning theatre, television and cinema.
