Patsy Rowlands rose to prominence in the Carry On film series, appearing in nine films between 1969 and 1975 — including Carry On at Your Convenience — typically playing the dowdy, put-upon wife or the long-suffering secretary. She achieved further recognition as Betty Lewis in the ITV sitcom Bless This House (1971–1976), alongside Sid James. Beyond comedy film and television, she had an extensive stage career in West End productions and later appeared in major musical revivals including Oliver! and My Fair Lady, across a versatile career spanning from 1959 to 2001.
