Standing at 6 feet 7 inches, Bernard Bresslaw was the tallest member of the Carry On cast and became best known for his appearances across fourteen films in the series through the 1960s and '70s, including memorable turns as Bung-Dit-Din in Carry On Up the Khyber and Bernie Lugg in Carry On Camping. Beyond film, he worked extensively in theatre with major companies including the Royal Shakespeare Company and Young Vic. His catchphrase “I only arsked”, from the earlier television series The Army Game, followed him throughout his career and became one of British comedy's most quoted lines.
